NETGEAR FA310FX Fast Ethernet Adapter

Hi All, I have just installed Windows Vista, Build 5384 and so far have come up with a problem. I am dual booting with Vista on a different drive than XP. I have a combination Wired and wireless system setup. The main computer, the one with Vista installed has the NETGEAR FA310FX adapter installed and it is hard wired to my router. I then have 3 other computers in the house that access the network via wireless. Using WildBlue satellite internet with a Surfbeam modem. Whenever I attempt to install the adapter in Vista I get an error message that there is a "line missing in the .inf file". It was suggested that I install the FA311 drivers, but that was a no go. I cannot delete the adapter as the system advises that the computer may not work without it...HUH? Anyway, I know this is an old adapter but I am afraid that to purchase another wired adapter might just be a crap shoot. Right now I am on the network with a Linksys Wireless USB Adapter and it is working fine, but I do like having this particular machine connected to the router. I will have to set up the network again to shield it and I would just as soon find a work around to the adapter issue. Any ideas? Best Regards, Connie
